With 54 big name brands under the one roof, District offers shoppers an unparalleled selection of products and an exceptional shopping experience.
Devwest Group Executive Director, Damon Ferguson, said District is creating a hub of entertainment, discovery and community.
“We kicked off construction on District about 14 months ago and to be standing here today, officially welcoming our first shoppers is fantastic,” Mr Ferguson said.
“Our aim at District is to redefine the outlet shopping experience in Adelaide by bringing together a wide range of renowned brands, giving shoppers the opportunity to discover great deals and fashion-forward products all in one convenient location.”
District’s new Centre Manager, Melinda Fremlin, said the past few weeks have been a flurry of activity as stores finalised their fitouts for the grand opening.
“Our retailers have gone above and beyond to ensure that our shoppers will have an exceptional experience from the moment they step foot into the outlet,” Ms Fremlin said.
“The centre is streamlined with a user-friendly single-level "racetrack" layout, purposefully designed to provide shoppers with a seamless and effortless shopping experience.
“Being the only outlet in Adelaide with a roof also means we can provide shoppers with a weather-proof destination, ensuring true comfort even on chilly winter days.”
Realmark Commercial Retail Sales and Leasing Director, Michael Richardson, said to be opening the centre 100% leased is a true testament to the offering.
“The last remaining tenancy was snapped up just a couple of weeks ago by US clothing brand Volcom,” Mr Richardson said.
“Interest from brands across the world has been phenomenal and we are still actively receiving Expressions of Interest from prospective tenants should more tenancies become available in the future.”
Executive General Manager Property for Parafield Airport, James Sangster, said the District Outlet Centre will boost economic growth in the northern suburbs.
“The District Outlet Centre is a cornerstone of our rapidly growing Commercial Precinct, which is home to several other retail and commercial businesses that will complement this development,” Mr Sangster said.
“Our goal for the Parafield Airport precinct is to be a vibrant economic hub that benefits the northern region of Adelaide through the provision of commercial, retail and industrial activities, and the District Outlet Centre significantly enhances the airport’s presence in the region.”
The $50 million District Outlet Centre was designed by INTRO Architects, with Ahrens – a 120-year-old, fifth-generation South Australian family-owned company – appointed by Devwest Group to bring the concept to life.
