A major highlight for the retreat was the Leaders visit to the Jodie O’Shea Orphanage.
The Jodie O’Shea House was built in memory Jodie O’Shea who was tragically taken in the 2002 Bali bombings. The orphanage currently care and house 94 children with the youngest just 20 months old. Their mission is to provide a healthy, loving and secure environment for the children.
North Coastal Director, Jeanette Bates first heard about the Jodie O’Shea House as they were in need of $1500 to buy a new washing machine for the orphanage. After Jeannette shared their story with the team, it touched all of their hearts. The sales team agreed to donate a percentage of their commission from each property sale, the property management team donated money from their ‘fun bonus’ and the admin team decided to cook lunches for the office and collect a donation as payment.
Within 4 weeks the North Coastal team has raised $3000 to donate to the Jodie O’Shea house to buy multiple machines for their laundry. Jeanette has said that “Upon visiting the laundry it was amazing to see how proud they were of the laundry room with all the children’s clothes pressed and folded to perfection”
Tears flowed with the presentation of the cheque and with the prospect of new washing machines to care for all the children in their care at the Jodie O’Shea house.
