Our ‘Hello Spring, Goodbye Boring’ competition saw the lovely Davina Lennon and her son Jack fly to Melbourne for a weekend of excitement. Davina could hardly believe it when her name popped up on social media channels as our First Prize winner. We were absolutely delighted to learn that she would be taking her son to Melbourne to spend some quality time together.

We caught up with Davina upon her return to Perth, to hear all about the trip, see what Davina has to say about visiting Melbourne and experiencing being on the set of The Block 2019.

“Jack and I had a lovely time in Melbourne. It was a full-on weekend, we shopped, lunched, visited various places and found some great venues to have dinner, enjoying a few glasses of wine along the way.

“Our hotel was in the perfect location to get everywhere. All the staff were really helpful, and nothing seemed to be too much bother.”

The most important part of their prize was getting to visit The Block 2019 Open Day. A chance for the fans of the show to see the incredible transformations in person.

“The Block visit was very eventful. We arrived with an enormous crowd of people, but the atmosphere was very upbeat and fun. It was great to go through to see Deb and Andy, they were very gracious and chatty. Andy, in true form, grabbed the mike and did a short rendition of Black Betty by Ram Jam. That really got the crowd dancing and cheering.”

We asked Davina which of the five amazing properties would be their winner if they were judging the show, this is what she had to say.

“They were all lovely in their own way, some better than others, but our top pick was Mel & Jesse. They had put a lot of thought into the layout of each area. By far their kitchen/dining/living was the best configuration for the space available. The wine cellar leading to the kitchen was beautiful, I want one!!! Undoubtedly there were rooms that seemed a bit dull but overall, we loved it all.”

Her final message to our wonderful directors was “A huge thank you to the Realmark team for a great prize and to John and Anita, Jack and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”

We could not be happier for this wonderful family and are so grateful they shared their experience with us and everyone else.
